The supplier calls this bag vegan because it is PU rather than animal leather. That is accurate as far as it goes: it means no animal hide, not that the bag is plastic-free or low-impact. PU is a plastic coating. We would rather say that than let the word do more work than it should.

It closes on a magnetic button, not a zip.
