That is the manufacturer's word and it means a shower rather than a downpour. The zips are not sealed. Do not treat it as waterproof.
Read this before you buy it as a cabin bag
At 40 × 25 × 20cm it sits inside Ryanair's free under-seat personal-bag size of 40 × 30 × 20cm (checked on Ryanair's help centre, 16 September 2026) with 5cm to spare on one side, and inside easyJet's free under-seat size. A bulging bag can still fail a sizer, so do not overpack it. Check your airline before you fly.
